First time college students must navigate a complex process just to enroll and connect with services; this process is made much more difficult for ESL students, most of whom lack the language skills and cultural awareness to make informed decisions. Our ESL population at ARC is the largest in the district (1500 students, 3000 enrollments) and growing. Students often report commuting here based on the robustness of our program. There is an acute need to provide them with student help who speak their language and have experience in the process of enrolling and succeeding at AR.
