Exemplary Teaching, Learning & Working Environment (2017 - 2021) 3 The College ensures an equitable, safe, and inclusive teaching, learning, and working environment. Culturally relevant curriculum, innovative, high- quality instructional methods and technologies, exemplary academic and student support services, and comprehensive and integrated professional development create the best conditions for teaching and learning. Serving nearly 1500 individual students with over 3000 enrollments, the ESL faculty continue to work in small and minimally technologically-assisted spaces. ESL faculty at ARC have insufficient space to easily and safely engage students in group activities that promote meaningful interaction in English.

The solution to this problem may require a comprehensive review of how space is allotted on campus or within areas. ESL only requests that the consistent enrollments and high retention rates of our population be taken into consideration. Anecdotally, ESL faculty report walking past large classrooms with few students not soon after the semester starts.
